नवरात्रि का पांचवा दिन देवसेना के पति कार्तिकेय की माता के रुप में स्कन्दमाता की अभिकल्पना दी गई है। इस रुप में दैविक शक्ति की गोद में षडानन है। योग विज्ञान के अनुसार यह दिन विशुद्ध चक्र पर अनुसंधान का है। योगतंत्र बताता है कि हमारे मेरुदंड में कंठ वाली जगह पर 16 दल का एक कमल है। जहाँ षडज, ऋषभ, गाॅंधार, मध्यम, पंचम, धैवत्, निषाद, ओम, हुंम, फट्, वौषट, वषट्, स्वाहा, नमः, विष और अमृत नामक 16 वृत्तियाँ क्रियाशील है। 

(On the fifth day of Navratri, Skandmata is designed as the mother of Kartikeya, the husband of Devasena. In this form, there is Shadanan in the lap of divine power. According to the science of Yoga, this day is of research on the Vishuddha Chakra. Yogatantra tells that there is a lotus of 16 teams at the place of throat in our spine. Where 16 Vrittis namely Shadaj, Rishabh, Gandhara, Madhyam, Pancham, Dhaivat, Nishad, Om, Hum, Phat, Vaushat, Vasht, Swaha, Namah, Vish and Amrit are active.

पांचवें दिन साधक महलोक पार कर जनलोक में आता है। यह मनोभौतिक जगत का अंतिम पड़ाव है। यहाँ से उपर शुद्ध मानसिक लोक है। जनलोक का वासी मन विशुद्ध चक्र में विभिन्न ध्वनि सुनता है। प्रथम स्तर पर पशु की ध्वनियाँ तत्पश्चात सृष्ट जगत की ध्वनियाँ सुनता है। उसके बाद मानव पराभौतिक ध्वनियों एवं अलौकिक अनुभूतियों का आनन्द लेता है। 

(On the fifth day the sadhaka crosses the Mahalok and comes to the Janlok. This is the final stage of the psychophysical world. Above here is the pure psycho world. The resident mind of Janaloka hears various sounds in the vishuddh chakra. At the first level one hears the sounds of the animal and then the sounds of the created world. After that man enjoys the superphysical sounds and supernatural experiences.

यहाँ वैष्णववीय लोक की मधुर अनुभूति को छोड़ कर साधक दिव्याचारी बनता है। यहाँ साधक देव तथा आराध्य महादेव कहलाते हैं। प्रारंभ में पशु तथा पशुपति आरंभ होकर देव महादेव में समा जाता है।

(Here the sadhaka becomes divine by leaving the sweet feeling of Vaishnaviya world. Here the sadhaka is called Dev and the adorable Mahadev is called. In the beginning, the animal and the Pashupati begin to merge into the Dev Mahadev.
